Walmart Marketplace will add three popular categories to its assortment and expand fulfillment offerings for sellers, including a multichannel solutions program that will use Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) to fulfill orders from any ecommerce site via Walmart’s supply chain when it launches Sept. 10. Additionally, the new Walmart Cross Border import service for full-container-load shipments will be able to handle transportation of inbound goods from Asian ports of origin directly to WFS facilities in the U.S.
The new categories, revealed at the Let’s Grow! 2024 Walmart Marketplace Seller Summit that wraps up today in San Francisco, are:
- Premium Beauty, featuring more than 20 new brands of skin care, hair care and hair tool products backed up by custom storefronts and editorial content;
- Resold at Walmart, offering 5 million pre-owned items from more than 1,700 performance-managed sellers and including luxury fashion, electronics, collectibles and sporting goods. The category builds on the success of the Walmart Restored collection of refurbished electronics and small appliances; and
- Collectibles, available in the Collector Shop, where sellers can now enable preorders to build customer anticipation for product drops, including releases that are exclusive to Walmart.
At the event, Walmart also previewed Walmart LocalFinds, designed to bridge the gap between online and offline shopping with direct pickup and delivery from sellers’ physical stores. Launching this fall in Atlanta and Dallas, Walmart LocalFinds will be paired with the Walmart last mile delivery network, enabling faster deliveries and connecting shoppers with local businesses through Walmart’s digital channels. 1-800-Flowers.com is the first nationwide seller to participate.
Additionally, Walmart has enhanced its solutions and is offering special deals to sellers for the 2024 holiday season, including:
