Stop & Shop has opened a new flagship store at 305 Guest Street, part of the Allston Yards development.
The new 52,000-square-foot location was thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of the local community, more than half of whom are under the age of 35. For example, the store has a sleek, modern exterior, dedicated curbside pickup and free 90-minute parking for customers.
The store also was constructed using environmentally friendly materials, including updated refrigeration units designed to use more climate-friendly refrigerants and doors that help reduce energy consumption. To reduce carbon emissions, Stop & Shop installed electric cooking equipment in its prepared foods section and bakery.
The inside of the store includes a diverse global product assortment, including fresh and local produce, sustainably sourced seafood and more than 800 multicultural products. Stop & Shop also expanded its prepared foods selection, going beyond the basic fresh salads and sandwiches and offering flatbread pizzas, a full hot bar featuring chicken wings, Jamaican patties and empanadas, and fresh sushi and sashimi.
If shoppers want to save more on their purchases, they can head to the in-store savings kiosk to scan their Stop & Shop GO Rewards loyalty program card and activate their digital coupons. There is even a Starbucks Café and a Citizens Bank branch inside the store, creating a multi-purpose space where consumers can meet their multidimensional needs.
“Stop & Shop Allston Yards offers an exciting new shopping experience for our local customers,” said Gordon Reid, President of Stop & Shop in a statement. “Our team put careful consideration into designing a store that offers the right mix of products, convenient services and great values to help our customers save. We are continuing to invest in our stores in Boston and across the Northeast, and our team remains focused on unlocking new ways to deliver even more value and convenience for all our customers.”
