The CMO Council has begun sharing its list of “Brands Bucking Russia” to highlight the companies withdrawing their business from Russia in response to the country’s invasion and continued attacks on Ukraine, with plans to update the list daily. Major brands, including Adidas, Amazon, Apple, eBay, Hermès, Levi’s and LVMH are just a few of the names already on the roster.
“We’ve never felt more connected to our community of brand marketers who have been quick to make their positions known and put action behind their words,” said Donovan Neale-May, Executive Director of the CMO Council in a statement. “Hundreds of major brands are pulling out of Russia, while those few staying silent are drawing ire over social media. In a connected economy, where consumers hold sway, we’ve never seen anything like this: global companies weaponizing commerce in retaliation for bombs and bullets.”
Here’s a partial list of the boycotting brands: Accenture, Activision, Adobe, Airbnb, Airbus, Bain & Company, BlackRock, Bloomberg, BMW, Bombardier, BP, Cisco, Coca-Cola, Coinbase, Credit Suisse, Dell, Deloitte, Discover, Exxon, HSBC, IBM, J.P. Morgan, Kering, Komat’su, the London Stock Exchange, Maersk, Mastercard, McDonald’s, Mercedes-Benz, NASDAQ, Oracle, Richemont, Rolls Royce, SAP, Samsung, Shell plc, State Street, Valero, Visa, YouTube and Zoom.
